Privacy notice (pre-launch)

Propertyism is a UK property search service in development. It is run by Ummer Daraz as a pre-launch project and is not yet open to the public. A full privacy notice will be published here before the service launches.

What we collect

Our crawler, PropertyismBot, reads homes publicly advertised for sale or to let on estate agents', letting agents' and auctioneers' own websites. From each advert we keep the facts it shows: the address as advertised, price, type of property, rooms, links to photographs, and the advertiser's branch details. We do not collect the names of sellers, landlords or tenants, and we remove the names and personal numbers of individual staff.

Why, and on what basis

We use this information to build and test the search service, relying on our legitimate interests in doing so. During this stage nothing is published: the information is used internally to test how well we find and match adverts.

How long we keep it

Working copies of pages are deleted after 30 days. Advert facts are kept while the project runs, and anything you ask us to remove is removed.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you or a property you own or live in, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to our use of it. Email privacy@propertyism.co.uk. We will reply within 30 days, and usually much sooner. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
